THE scorecard for Jon Jones’ controversial win over Dominick Reyes has been revealed – with one judge’s scoring branded “insane”.
MMA legend Jones retained his light-heavyweight belt via unanimous decision in Houston, Texas.
Reyes came out aggressive, as was expected, and took the fight to Jones in the early going. However, as the contest wore on, Reyes was backing up a lot more than Jones, who continued to push forward.

The triumph means he now holds the record for most championship wins in UFC.
Jon Jones was floored early Reyes believed he had won the first three rounds but accepted the result humbly despite the crowd clearly unsatisfied by the result. “I thought I won one through three, he was on me in four and five, he’s a champion,” Reyes said. Jones beat Dominick Reyes by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) to retain the UFC light heavyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 247. The crowd at Toyota Center rained down boos when the result was read. As the bell was rung at the end of the fifth round, each man raised his arms, thinking he had won.
But the result was not without question – especially given the scoring of one of the judges.
The majority of fight fans watching the bout had Reyes winning at least two of the first three rounds.
Add to that the fact he dropped Jones in the first and it seemed like he was on top.
That was reflected accurately in the scoring, but it is the scores record by judge Joe Solis that put some fans into a rage.
He had the fight 49-46 in favour of Jones, while Marcos Rosales and Chris Lee, the other two judges, scored it much closer.
They both had it 48-47 in favour of Jones.
Solis’ marks were labelled “insane” by Joe Rogan and UFC supremo Dana White thought Jones had lost the fight.
Rogan, a commentator and popular podcast host, blasted: “I can’t argue about this enough. I can’t get angry enough.

“I’ve done it so many times. For anyone to think that was 4-1 Jon Jones, that person’s insane.
“They’re insane. Dominick Reyes put on a hell of a fight tonight. And to disrespect that performance by that kind of judging is insane.”
White also cast doubts on the scoring as he claimed he thought Reyes was well ahead coming into the fifth.
He told TSN: “I had it 3-1 Reyes going into the fifth.
“I do [think Reyes won]. Joe Silva, our old matchmaker, had it a draw. And some of our other guys had Jones winning the fight.
“This thing was all over the map. But at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is none of us are judges. So it doesn’t matter how we had it.”

And fans on social media were equally scathing in their view of Solis’ scoring.
One said: “The last four rounds to Jones… stay off the drugs kids.”
Another wrote: “Put me in the octagon with the 49-46 judge.”
